Hello supporters of progressive change!

OFA has a new improved webtool allowing you to make calls from home to help
get out the vote this Fall!

Use this easy link to make calls right from your home into New York's 20th
Congressional District and encourage voters to support Scott Murphy for
Congress in the November 2nd midterm elections:

Congressman Murphy has been ally in the fight for healthcare reform,
financial regulatory reform and the effort to stimulate the nation's
economy. As a small businessman, Scott Murphy helped create over
1,000 jobs and over a dozen small businesses. Scott has been in Congress for
just one year, and he is working hard to bring fiscal responsibility to
Washington, create good-paying jobs, and get our economy moving again.

264 New York pledges

Organizing for America
Charles --

It's been a powerful week for OFA.

On Monday, the President called on us to help build this movement for the final weeks of the 2010 election.

Tens of thousands of supporters answered that call -- matching another grassroots donation and doubling their impact on this movement.

And the growth has been exponential -- with one supporter inspiring another, who in turn inspires two more to take that next step and chip in.

This is how we will build the organization we need to win close elections across the country this fall.

There are still 264 supporters across New York who made a promise to match a grassroots donation -- and they're counting on you to take that next step.

Make a $5 donation -- and get it doubled -- today.

I know from experience how inspiring it is to get that note of encouragement and thanks from a fellow supporter who matched your donation.

It's then that you feel the power of this movement. You see people coming together because they believe in this cause:

-- A firefighter in Fort Collins, CO, matched an engineer in Wichita, KS.

-- A nurse in Solomons, MD, matched a school bus driver in Quincy, FL.

-- A songwriter in Bellingham, WA, matched a railroad worker in Kirtland, OH.

These matches get me fired up. They are a reminder that each of us, across the country, is doing all we can to keep our country moving forward.

There's a lot at stake this November -- and we're giving everything we've got. No party has ever put together such an ambitious plan for an election like this.

Let's keep going -- please match a $5 grassroots donation today:

Hi everyone.

Did you know that New York is a battleground state in the upcoming midterm
elections, with seven Congressional Districts held by Democrats targeted by
the Republicans?

The outcome of these races could ultimately determine control of the
Congress. That is not an exaggeration. The odds are that some of these races
are also going to be very close, with the difference between winning and
losing being the effort put into the field operations -- basically the
canvassing and phone calls we make to voters.
As you will see from the schedule below, we are mounting an effort here that
can make a difference, but it all depends on you. Find an activity that fits
into your schedule and sign up. I guarantee you'll feel better about
yourself on November 3!

Hope to see you this week.

Today: New York votes

Organizing for America
Charles --

Today, Tuesday, September 14th, voters across New York will head to the polls to cast their ballots in this year's primary election.

We've accomplished a lot in the past year -- including a health reform victory that was 100 years in the making and Wall Street reform that provides the strongest consumer financial protections in history -- and our participation this fall is a crucial part of ensuring that we keep the momentum going.

To make sure you're prepared, please click here for voting information.

In New York City and the counties of Nassau, Suffolk, Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam and Erie, polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. In all other counties, polls open at 12:00 p.m. and close at 9:00 p.m.

If you are a first-time voter who registered by mail, you may be asked to show a form of identification at the polls, such as a driver's license, current utility bill, or paycheck.

New Yorkers will cast their ballots for the candidates who will represent them in Albany and in the halls of Congress -- so it's crucial that as many voters as possible make their voices heard.

You can visit the website below for more information about voting:
